Many times do I recall
when the sound of another
victim's cry
was all I ever had
to assure myself
I never suffered alone
all life in the universe
is in it for something
in it together
to grow and feel
pain in every body
some are captives
of their own minds
the powerful man
is a slave to his own greed
driving his false smile
each other is all we have
and we suffer together
to grasp our own fiber
in the fabric of space and time
