My 1960's Colour TV

My 1960’s colour TV sits silently alone
In a world where everything is flat and plasma and unknown
My 1960’s colour TV boasts history
And a pleasant peasant view
Although the picture may not be as sharp
Or as clear or the colour “true”
It does the job just fine I think
It knows what it can do.
Its bulbous little bubble screen
Isn’t as pompous as the rest
It can’t out smart my fingertips
And has been through many tests.
It doesn’t look like it could fly
Like many new screens do
It sits comfortably upon my floor and delivers me the news.
My 1960’s colour TV only acts on my command,
Keeps itself conservative and does what I have planned.
In a time when things are silver and flat and shiny too
My 1960’s colour TV is old and tried and true
My 1960’s colour TV does what I want it to.
