We have a new president, but is he right for the job
Our nation needs someone that will not lie and rob
He will not show his birth certificate, and why?
If he was truely born here, for what would he have to lie
He apoliges to all foreign nations and tell them some untruth
That this country is made of muslims and that is just uncuth
We are 60% christian here, and he never ask us to reply
He told what he wanted to, but know not the reason why
Why is he trying so very hard, to bring America down
And if he has muslim connections himself, Our nation won't be sound
I'm not putting this man down if he loves America like he should
I'm just saying, he should think twice, and doing only good
Our nation was founded on Christian faith, you see
And no one can take that away from you and me
In God we trust will always be, in this nation it is found
On money and in many places, It will always be around
Even if they should take that away, It will remain forever more
For in our heart will know the truth, of what God will have in store
For he may let this nation be ruled, But someone in Satans hand
But when he come back to clain his own, That person may not stand
So beware of what is done by people in government in this day
When God has seen the time to come back, Those people will not stay
Our Motto has always been on all things "In God we trust
For ever more this will be and our nation will never rust
God help the ones that lie to the nation, in the office which they are sworn
To do the devils bidding and leave this nation torn

So, you think there's a plot to deceive when I think you're being lied to and believe the lies. The sad thing is how this country is divided by party lines instead of seeking the truth. The man was born to a White mother and African father in Hawaii. In this day and age, that is not too odd at all. He was born in the sixties; in those days free love was the bigger picture (color really did not matter as much as it does today) and that had a bearing on his parents' interracial marriage. His father was a Muslim but his mother was a Christian, she raised Barack, and so did his Christian grandparents. It would make sense that he followed those who had the most affect on his life but then what do I know?
It would seem to me that a child who's father abandoned him at an early age would not want to be like him. President Barack Obama proves that with the evidence of love he has for his wife and children. If you cannot see that, you must be blind in one eye. LOL
And please...don't be naive, no one does totally all good, and God is going to have his way no matter what. Stop listening to the media and follow your own mind. Obama is just as much white as he is black... 50-50! Why don't people see that he could pull from both ethnic backgrounds to bring about a healing of the people, who by the way, are really all the same except for complexion.
I feel sorry for young people who cannot see past the smoke screen that Satan has blown in our faces. Your last four lines go both ways and the God of my understand (i am a Christian too) will not be mocked. Don't live your life in fears from all the propaganda that the religious right spreads about. Theirs is not the mission of righteousness either. They have an agenda, wake up and see the Light!
Your poem packed a punch and that is why it got such a long response from me. In all that, this poem is exceedingly well written.
