Mother God

She bends down
to reach her child
picks her up
snuggles

He bends down
to reach his child
picks her up
in her struggles

She came to earth
To give birth
To children
She's a mom

He came to earth
To be born
As a child
He is God

She knows what it is to love
She has children

He knows what it is to love
He has children

She would give her life
For her children

He gave his life and died
For his children

Author notes

We often think of God as Father and rightly so, but there are a few times in scripture where he compares himself to a mother.

Can a woman forget her nursing child? Will she have no compassion on the child from her womb? Although mothers may forget, I will not forget you. - Isaiah 49:15
