Foolish Wishers

There is a man that you know
He’s in every woman’s life
He’s tall and handsome
Wears mystery around him like a cloak

His face is a mask of chilling cold
But in true reality he’s nothing like that
You think he’s cold and distant
Because you’re not the one he’s warm too
The one that he’s holds the closest

You see that he’s dead on about his guesses
And you go to him like you can’t help it
But really you only see what he wants you too and
You’re will is questionable only because you allow it

You want to be able to understand this quiet man
To figure him out and make him your own
But truthfully you could never handle him
And you couldn’t even begin to get what’s hidden inside

You wish and pray that one day he’ll smile your way
Maybe even embrace you in a different grip
But you’re being foolish to think things will change
He knows what he wants and he gets his way, always
You won’t be able to trick him into your silly game

His eyes are serious and bold against all odds
And his lips rarely turn upward to you
But sometimes you pretend that it’s okay
That you can live with those hidden mysteries
When you’re really dying to pry them out

For heaven sakes get a hold on your self
Your day dreaming must go away
Don’t be foolish enough to step into your own trap
Because it’s clear that you’re not what he wants
Other wise it would be you in his embrace
And you could close that never ending distance
But instead it's you whose wishing you were me

What did you think
