Heart of Pearl

Your heart is a clam
jam pack tight
every moment is
a fight to open
you up, to get inside
to find that hidden pearl
of who I know you are
the sand is rough
but it can change
your shell is white
but has many stains
your heart beat is bright
filled with some disdain
but I know I can
find the love in you again
to bring that pearl out
and make it shine
in the silver light
