Rotten Weekends

I'm always bored, no money, Hun
on weekends with the office closed
Cat Food shipping by the ton
during the week as I supposed
Come the weekend, no more fun
Cash/Food flow not now exposed

I must see my Cat Food thrive
see it ship out everyday
see wholesalers checks arrive
or squirm in office when they pay
to us the money to survive
this harsh slow-down, the Tiki way

Yes, weekends are long and bleak
without my seeing the money roll in
here in my office till the coming week
with you here, Hun, living in sin
having sex when all I seek
is for my cash flow to begin

Again you have brought me laughter and smiles. You are so talented with the written word. Keep up the amazing writing, hugs Theresa

Poor Tiki - all work and no play - but then she is a very enterprising cat and I'm sure things will pick up very soon. I love all the dry humor in this poem.

Blaze says he just doesn't know what's up: all business just going to the dogs, and all.

    Good luck in the contest!

funny, especially the last stanza - living in sin waiting for the cash flow to begin (i just know there is a business pursuit of some sort in that process - haha). thanks for the chuckle.

This gave me a laugh for today. The endless cycle of work, alas, the bane of our lives but the essential way to buy your food and pay the rent. Giid poem!
