Night is chilled
Month is December
Heart raced fast
...from what I can remember
Call came in
Words were heavy
Tears welled in my eyes as I pressed end
Unreal is what it seemed
Like blood to me, my friend
Brain Trauma, Internal Bleeding
Innocently losing a life
Over a car, carelessly speeding
Blood ran cold
Sky turned black
Time...Rewind
The clock wouldn't turn back
I fell to my knees and i prayed
Hospital...stretchers, nurses, beds
There in comatose he lay
Resting his mangled head
In this moment I was nostalgic
remembering his smile, his smell, his laugh
I seemed to lose all sense of logic
So, i fell to my knees and I prayed
Life cannot be taken for granted
Never think things cant be taken away
Forever our lives are haunted
We fall to our knees and we pray
You keep getting stronger
You beat the odds
You keep fighting longer
Never lose yourself
My HERO
My INSPIRATION
The determination to wake up each day
The reason every night before I close my eyes
I fall to my knees and I pray
Author notes
I wrote this for a dear friend of mine who suffered from a TBI due to a car accident just this past year. He is now paralyzed and cannot speak or walk. He is my inspiration and he rightfully deserves his life. I love you. Stay Strong.

beautiful
watching people regret the things they thought didnt need saying is heart breaking. life is to short and preciouse not to tell people how much they mean to you.
I really like this poem. Very heart felt and delicate in a sad yet beautiful way. sometimes the most/least you can do is pray. You are a truly dedicated friend. Keep writing x x x -
