faceless we slouch
among the backstreets,
growing husky in twilight
we drop low
with the sun;
kiss me walking
in and out of
shadows- we sling them
over our shoulders
and walk nightbound
in deep shades of grey.
take me up
with your shadow,
carry me inside
your smooth palms,
cupped like a handful
of dust to be blown,
then forget me
when the sun rises
and you creep back into
a warm house
to find your face again.
