When i was not loving Thee...

What did i love, when i was not loving Thee?

When i was not sweet enough
When i was not soft enough
When i was not small enough
When i was not silent
When i was not gentle

What did i love, when i was not loving Thee?

When i did not serve
When i did not pray
When i did not beg
When i did not bleed

What did i love, when i was not loving Thee?

    De profundus!

Nicely done! It leaves the question(s) unanswered to roil about in your mind for a decade or so, wondering about it.

You have such a sweet and warm heart no wonder you protect it so. I didn't even notice the lower case "i" until I read going nowhere's comment. These are some good things to ponder these questions of yours.

the set up of this was interesting... that you purposely kept the i lowercase. at first i thought that everything was lowercase, except Thee, but then i noticed each line was capitalized, too. is it because you want the reader to make 'i' seem lowly? is it because of what you loved before? i think that there isn't any reason, other than you take who you are now, and realize as you ask that you can't remember what it was, because there was nothing else... only Him, even when you weren't aware of it.

but that is just my observation...

your words always show your heart if you want it to or not. at least i can see it intertwined in your words. beautiful, as always.
