Dear -----,
Fingernails grate lip-line's
saran wrappy fruit syrup
- clinging to white puffy creases
and pale coral - a vulnerability
like coloring book outlines -
misused.
Persistence strings
like grilled barbecue sauce
crystallizing in place of chops.
Gustatory cells stretch,
dampening bubblegum orgasms
where rambunctious air globules smack,
history's futile artifacts preserving.
Scrubbing spreads mucilage -
cause still I taste you
stubbornly prevailing on my lips.
Caitlin

The imagery was a bit overdone for my tastes. I really didn't get it. However, I do appreciate your entry, and the time you spent on it.

Encore!
Interesting choice of words on this one, they give the poem an even more abstract take on your motive, which is brilliantly penned IMO. I found myself reading it over and over. i think maybe there is room for expansion (one stanza) and revision of the "like" similies. mayb just leave them out or find another way of introducing those concepts because really went into detail to explain this. Thoroughly enjoyable ie- "history's futile artifacts preserving" or using barbecue sauce and bubble gum (pale choral) you contrast words that evoke drastically different responses within me in the representation as well as phonetics, very clever and way way cool.
