They lie motionless at our feet,
gasping for air in agony.
You cross your arms,
hugging yourself for comfort.
What have you done?
They hold their stomach's in outcry,
wanting the pain to stop.
You grip the sides of your head in frustration,
the torment building within.
What have you done?
We who have caused them pain
look between each other, confused.
We who are the suffering
look up at the cause and clamp our eyes shut with our tears.
What have we done?
We the cause,
We the effect,

The agony of the heart,
The torment within ourselves,
The ones who want out,
Who scream for savor.
The ones who laugh
at our own confusion.
What have we done?
What did you think
