Autumn: Falling Leaves

The scorching heat of summer is over,
like the leaves of the tree
that fell on the ground.

It was late at night
when I started to walk,
to walk in darkness,
alone in the forest.

There is no light,
except to the light of fireflies...
hundreds of them,
surrounding me as if
they are guiding me...

Autumn breeze is touching
my face,
as I wave goodbye to the old days.

As I walk,
the sound of leaves
is all I can hear,
crunching like flakes
on my breakfast in one of my summer days.

Autumn,
what a wonderful season,
to learn to let go,
and to be ready for another season...

  • I really don't feel a distinct flow in this poem, but the imagry was decent. I feel like you could work on showing the reading instead of simply telling them. It was a lovely poem and makes me excited for the leaves to fall

    Good Luck
