Can a Flower Blossom?

Can a flower blossom,
even if the plant is dead?
Is it possible to grow up,
when you've got no home, nor a bed?

Roaming the streets day and night,
hoping for enlightenment,
is that a life worth living,
no hope, nor excitement?

Can a flower blossom,
even if the soil is spoilt?
Is it fair to roam the streets,
when there are people who are royal?

Your in the world alone,
you have no one to talk to,
but if you think about it,
that really isn't true.

Seeing as there's
6 billion, 700 million, 990 thousand, 152,
there's bound to be one person,
willing to talk to you.

So pick yourself up,
and raise your head,
because a flower can blossom,
even if the plant is dead.

Author notes

I wrote this for school, because our new unit is poetry. (I was so happy when my teacher told us.)
I'm a really happy kid, so this poem doesn't really apply to me. What I'm trying to say with this poem is that all is not lost, and that you always have one important thing, no matter if you're rich or poor. Hope.

What can I improve on? What parts do you like most?

Very interesting idea, and you pulled it off remarkably well =) The rhyme works well, and the message of the poem is something we could all do with hearing in our lives. I've no doubt your teacher enjoyed the poem ^^ well done

I like the flow of your poem and the imagery and meaning is vivid. It's much deeper than at first glance and deserves a second read. Superb artistry.
