I sleep among the ashes,
bent to destroy naught but what they make of me.
Wake, oh deep dreamer,
the sun hath cast its warmth over the sea
which I long for, without hesitation.
Live, my dark whisperer,
leave my thoughts to become what you will,
born to be a light in the heavens.
Lend your strength to my eyes
so that I may see, and that I may believe.
Author notes
I read four pages into "The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran before this came pouring out. Didn't even think, just wrote. I recommend that book to anyone.
Please tell me what you think
