Cascading waters shimmer under the willow tree
A sword glints for a moment and points itself at me
One swish and it is over, the branch falls to the ground
I hear an exclamation, a hateful angry sound.
No longer am I hanging, my body lies below
The sword without an owner is moving sure but slow
It slices through it's victim, the one who did me wrong
He's screams out in the silence for he's no longer strong.
Excalibur has spoken, returning to the deep
Where legends lie for ever, though they are not asleep
Whilst coming to my rescue, I heard their age old song
Come join us in the water, It's here that you belong.
Whilst swimming in the river, I feel that close at hand
Someone is there to greet me, to take me to his land
No longer am I captive within the world of pain
I float into a new world and there I will remain.
