The charge of battle is a potently lethal addiction. For war is a drug started through contradiction. And can only lead to the rise in friction.
Between your people and the opposition. In a time where the only thing to grow is the affliction. That rises ever higher with every successful mission.
Where the soldiers see the likely hood of death is worth the battlefield commissions. And worth losing their lives under the most horrific of conditions. Because their moves are being made not by skillful tacticians.
But by money grubbing politicians. While the kids who fight the war cling to military traditions. Where they pray to god they don’t run out of ammunition.
Because if they do they won’t live long enough to spend their “free” collage tuition.

I don’t know about you. But when I hear about kids just out of high school who join the military just to receive money for college. I see it as another way to sell ones soul.

wow, great write! I have to say I really hate war, and is rather a touchy subject with me..So many young men and women die without reason.. We are taught from a very young age violence solves nothing, so why is war ok? This was well done, good job!

The reason it’s such a touchy subject is that anyone who comes out against a war their country is involved in. Is made to look unpatriotic. As for those young people who give their lives. In past wars where the outcome actually meant something to the world. The young people had their lives stolen from them due to the draft. They had no choice but to go and endure. But these days there is no draft. Everyone who fights is ether motivated by pride or like I said that “Free” Collage Tuition. So in turn it’s rather hard for me to shed a tear for them. Who I do feel for are those they leave behind. Believing their children, spouses, parents, died as heroes. In a conflict that didn’t have to be. Thanks for reading leaving a comment. Never be afraid to let your insight see the light.
