Drip, drip, Drip goes the rain.
Everyone says the drops are not the same,
but to me it is just rain. The rain
comes down hard, as the throw goes long
will the runner catch it or will he
drop it? It is a mystery to all. Drip, drip,
Drip goes the rain. Will it ever
go away? Three seconds left in the game,
everyone is at their string of
nerves. We are down 20-24. We are getting
into position at the goalline.
The quarterback calls out- 49, 78, 99 hut-hut
GO. He inteands to throw it to
78, but instead 10 catches it. The only question
is," did he catch it in the goal?"
One second later, ref yells that it was intercepted.
We are down 20-24 final. The rain
caused this to happen. Along with that, a dream
is destroyed. Drip, drip, Drip goes
the rain. Now I see that all drop are not the same.

I love how you have worked the poem so that the rain and football are inextricably linked-particularly true in the UK anyway! Nice, original write

Interesting write
Quite possibly the first poem I have read about a football game but I enjoyed it. I felt as if I were in the rain soaked stands watching this happen. That to me is the sign of a great writer if you can suspend the disbelieg and and transport someone from where they are to where you want them to be. Magic I say Pure Magic

49, 78, 99 hut-hut !
- aha if only you could hear me saying that.
at first when i was reading it was like ehh. drip drip. but towards the middle I began to get into it. i actually really like this write and the ending was very meaningful.
hopefully this didn't happen to you and if it, i wish you the best.
