Here I am alone
in a place unknown,
I've barely lived life
little experience in anything
how sad just knowing
my life could end today.
I try so hard to be brave
I'm young, barely nineteen,
but, I am a soldier
I've a job to do.
Mommy wouldn't accept it,
Daddy couldn't believe it;
I'm a girl, my daddy's girl;
the apple of his eye.
Giddy-up
I'd tell him a few years ago
Can I lick the bowl, please mommy?
She always let me do it, yum-my.
I have missed out on so much,
seen too much, and shed real tears.
My heart is sad, just ovewhelmed
I just thank God that I've survived.
Here I am alone
in a place unknown,
I've barely lived life
trying hard to be brave
make our world
a safer place.
Here I stand today,
alone,
steadfast in my beliefs,
but,
there's no way I could say
where I will be tomorrow?
