This Night

The evening felt malevolent when twilight encroached,
spreading dread like caustic worms as darkness approached.

Fear chained beating hearts in a malign quicksand pit,
holding innocent souls hostage for evil's benefit.

Sinister shadows spawned ghostly apparitions,
sending trapped mentalities into nightmarish canyons.

Where the dark and heinous abyss of this night,
steals the lives of everything caught within its sight.

There must be a shiny lightning trophy in the end beautiful Lady
There simply has to be one.....

Very evil and eerie. Such a haunting tone, you used the words in a short poem and didn't force them. Very nice, thanks for entering and best of luck.
