Sentiments of the heart
These empty pages calling
Pen in hand
Time unlocks expression
If only for fleeting moment
Then it’s gone
Still small voice, whispering
Capture His words while you can
Psalms of rhyme
Mind’s misty visions fall
Courting the scribe’s hand to dance
The pen sings
Hopes, romance, love, and dreams
People, places, memories
They know me
Songs no one else can write
Flow to page like a river
Soul laid bare
Heartbeats drawn intertwine
Poets weaving tapestry
Two are one
These empty pages calling
Pen in hand
Time unlocks expression
If only for fleeting moment
Then it’s gone
Still small voice, whispering
Capture His words while you can
Psalms of rhyme
Mind’s misty visions fall
Courting the scribe’s hand to dance
The pen sings
Hopes, romance, love, and dreams
People, places, memories
They know me
Songs no one else can write
Flow to page like a river
Soul laid bare
Heartbeats drawn intertwine
Poets weaving tapestry
Two are one
Author notes
In this piece, I've tried to capture the soul of poetry writing itself.

Amazing! You've done well capturing the soul of poetry writing. Using great imagery you've described the emotions a poet experience while writing poetry very well. Nicely done.

Stunning.
I adore it, everything about it. Splendid piece of work. Exchange reads?

Don't you hate it
When a line or two or three comes to mind and not a pen or paper to be found no where. You try to remember it all day and when you do find pen and paper you think now how did that go.Most of the time I don't have a clue but remember it was good. Still small voice, whispering, capture his words while you can

Ahhh, I think you've really captured the beauty and mystery of the mind in writing poetry - "songs no one else can write, flow to page like a rive" I really like that line a lot.
"Poets weaving tapestry, two are one!"
Wonderful view on the spirit of poetry

"Heartbeats drawn intertwine
Poets weaving tapestry
Two are one"
I think this was excellent ;-) I loved it.

-
I really like this one. "Psalms of rhymes" Great work at expressing the meaning of writing.

I always love it when a poet attempts to express the very essense of something in their work. You're attempt to capture poetry itself in a poem was a brilliant success. I love how you did it. Great job, and keep writing!
-

Yes,you did get it right..
"Still small voice, whispering
Capture his words while you can
Psalm of rhyme"
You have captured what some of us would like to put on paper, only you have profoundly written it...Excellently scribed, poet!

WELL-WRITTEN...!
lines and verses are balanced; subject is well-thought out and spelling is right on!
enjoyed reading this effort!

-
great stuff
This touches on the soul of poetry writing; the mind, will and emotions of the creative spark timed by heartbeats and metered as rhema. Very touching piece.

Breathtakingly Good. And i just dont know where to start on how great it is. Well done on the spotlight- this poem needs to be read more often.

amazing!
i really love this piece, how everything flowed and i really loved the lines:
Songs no one else can write
Flow to page like a river
Soul laid bare

This is it! Exactly what I think when I'm thinking of writing...that still small voice whispering..capture His words while you can..that was just excellent! Great piece.

In my mind you have
"Mind’s misty visions fall
Courting the scribe’s hand to dance
The pen sings"
Love this. It definitely captures all poetry writing, I think.
And then the stanza below captures how I like to write, and the poetry I like to read, but I've found that it isn't true of all poets. Not everyone bares their soul or even writes from their own heart or experience. They can still be 'good' poets but it has less meaning to me.
"Songs no one else can write
Flow to page like a river
Soul laid bare"
