Lost in a War Against Death (Ill probably edit this later on)

To me, you were an emblem of strength
To live, you would go to any length
The absolute definition of perseverance
Well at least, that was your appearance

Your wall was built so high and strong
Kind of like you, but it couldn’t last long
Erosion slowly tore it down, piece by piece
While your strength began to noticeably decrease

Losing yourself in a war against death
No time to catch your breath
Lest your life end in tragedy
Like that Scottish king Macbeth

Author notes

I would like to let you guys know that I refered to Macbeth not merely for the purpose of rhyme, but also for the fact that he too, much like the person I wrote this for was in a 'war' against death. In the play, Macbeth, three witches tell a prophecy that he will die in the end, after he has been crowned king of Scottland after killing the previous king. So, he does all in his power to stop this, 'fighting off death', or so to speak.
That is a shorter eplaination as to why I decided to include him in this poem, so yea. Anyway, I hope you liked it.
=)

The inclusion of MacBeth is a nice touch and really creates a feeling for the character and atmosphere of this piece. The opening stanza is fantastic. Overall, I love this piece, it tells a story that can be related to even if the person has never known anyone like this. You have a very relatable and easy to read writing style. Thank you for sharing.

The poem speaks strongly in the last 2 stanzas as the feeling of losing a war against death brims up.
The first stanza had lucid expression of strength and glory that person possessed.
    nice write!
