How I miss...

I miss the simpler times,
When love was dead, and all a lie,

How I miss the hollow beat
Of my heart's slow defeat

How I miss the fickle glow,
Of the game we ought to know

How I miss the wine filled nights,
Drinking just to feel a rise,

How I miss that apathy,
Heartbreak's just a word to me,

How I miss the knowing of,
The fact I'd never fall in love

All these things are just a lie,
I didn't care I didn't cry.

I enjoyed this one; it feels very fresh, like fresh air after a mint pastille

one other thing that I was thinking about is the first verse and I fail to see any kind of rhyme there and in some ways that ruins a bit of the poem because the rest of the verses have rhyme.

We all miss times like that, before the pain you assosciate with love, funny how something so powerful can easily work against us and desttroy us from inside out, a powerful write that is wrought with regret of love, how much simpler life would be without love. Well done for such a powerful write.

  • Simply amazing, no other words needed. Welcome to my finalists list. xxx
