Neverland is dead

Neverland is dead, Peter and Hook too.
The Titanic sank, along with the crew.
Satine always dies and Cinderella still loses her shoe.

These stories are always going to end the same,
So why should I have told you--

That we were just like them,
Alone? Dead? and Cold?

You can love like winter,
Or be my indian summer,
Even start screaming infidelities;

But these songs, all sound the same every time,
So why try to rhyme us with them?

We have so much to say,
So why, every day,
Do I try to surmise us with them?

It's because I know nothing.

I don't know what I'm doing
Here
Now.

It's because I know nothing.

I don't know what 'proving' is all about.

It's because I know nothing.

But, now, here's the volta,
And we're not on mars.

Here's the turning point of all parts.

I realize this now, and yes,
It is new:

Without a doubt
I love you, I do.

But that's not
The best
Part.

I love you like Peter
I love you like summer, warms the heart
I love you like Katy,
I love kissing girls,
But that is just part
Of the way that I love you.
Little mouse footfalls on the tip of your nose,
Meet little Canarys, sneezing on toes.

Melodic and true,
But suddenly loud.

I think it's yours sneeze that makes you stand out.

I think you have merit,
I think you have clout,
I think you're a poet,
That no one knows about.
I think you're my Wendy,
I think you're alike--

But there's a big difference between 'same' and 'alike'.

So I'll love you just like her,
Letting you live.
I'll love you like summer.
I'll love you like Christian,
Watching you die.
I will love you for ages.

But I'll love you
The  best way I know how:

With hope.
