When emotions run deep
Making me unable to speak
My silent tongue betrays
The depth of feeling
When tears are all that flow
From the ache within my soul
Rivers of raw emotion
Erode my stability
As I tremble like a leaf
With no reason for my grief
Please know and understand
It's purely physical
No circumstances of doom
Have created this cloud of gloom
Just hormones out of balance
Driving this lady crazy!!
Author notes
Poetry written by one of the menopausally deranged.
Can you relate?

Oh my lol, I like this. It could also be the hormones out of balance from pregnancy, yes? Lol! You did a great job on this write. Thanks for entering it into my contest and good luck!

Yes, those hormones give us troubles at many different times through our lives, don't they?

I Knew It
When you IM'd about what your poem and how you're feeling menopause came to mind. I remember taking care of my mom when she was going thru it. It was very rough for her.
It sure is tough to be a woman at times, huh?
God love ya, sis...

Generally brings out some great poetry for me though. Gotta look on the positive.

LOL
Is that's what's going on with me?
Well
I suppose that's one reason for the things I'm going through!
Love this write & can totally understand, being in that 'stage' of life one can call the 'ageless summer'
if you know what I mean!
Now that I think of it I think I'm going to write a poem about 'The Golden Years' 'cause I don't experience anything golden about them except for feeling like I'm in the smelting pot!
Oh well...such is life eh?

I have experienced this...
....yes... I've been at the receiving end of the venom which this insidious snake attacks us mere men.... attacks I say... Menopausally driven poison which injected in the life of poor innocent men DRIVES THEM CRAZY!!!!!! LOL.

Funny!
They give me dozens of medications and I keep telling them all I need is a set of balanced hormones. Clever write that I thoroughly enjoyed. I look forward to more. -

This is a wonderfully created imagery filled poem. I can so relate to what you are saying. It almost makes me feel sorry for my husband. Almost.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank You for Your Entry ~
I'm afraid of menopause - I'm an erratic emotional person as is, I dread to see what I'll be like then
The final stanza is great because it identifys what is upsetting you and causing your silent tongue - one might get rather worried reading this if they weren't sure what it was about
Best of Luck

Stay safe
