It was a long time ago
but still I remember
one cold winters day
I stood with you
glad that you were my dad
proud of my new friend
that you had made
all dressed in white
with black eyes
and an orange nose
I was truly happy
that day long ago
What happened to the person
you were then
the person who always had time
to play with his daughter
to help with work
or just to be with her
the person who cared about her
the person I knew as my dad
I wish they would return
I preferred them to
the person you are now
but that person only lives in my memory
it was a long time ago
