Fantasy's Temptation

With a tantalizing beckon,
fascination drew me near.
As fantasy uttered like delusions
behind it’s ticktock beat,
I listened intensely
to its enchanting escape
from reality.

Insanity,
my riveting reverie,
intensified my fixation
producing a manic sensation.
I became increasingly aware
of time on my hands.

My glance
turned into a stance,
then an endless trance
staring at a clock,
listening to it’s
unwinding ticktock.
Then a transformation
took place.

Racing against time,
intangible emotions
and senseless sensations
of losing touch
took over.

Time is,
from future through present,
then back to the past,
a continuum of experience
of which events pass.
It’s ending depends
on when I awake
from this
never ending dream.

For solitude to the magnitude
I endure
would disturb any.

Author notes

This is based off my experiences with mania, fantasizing, feeling overwhelming timlessness, and lonliness.

What do you think? Is there any way I can improve this?

    Manic facination

I stumbled at first then tried reading this out loud and it all fell in to place. The "beat" of your verse is slow and methodical...as the ticking of the clock would be. I could feel the speakers focus ..as well as sense the clock...very well written

The structure of this poem threw me off at first glance, but reading further in it shows me how well written this piece actually is I enjoyed the wording of your piece, and the flow. Very well written!
