Patchwork Heart

Precious moments each quilted together,
Abstracts of past loves which last forever,
Tender trails of a freely given kiss,
Caught in time for when lonely heart beats miss
Held closer whilst damaged senses repair,
Wish for the past when I was free to care,
Ovations of love lost in pain's domain,
Return to haunt the heart where words retain,
Keepsakes of rage amid passions torment

Hurt by faded love that's been overspent.
Evolving from a heart worn on a sleeve
A new beginning can carefully weave
Repairing the old,a neat little patch,
Trust is wary but soon finds a love match.
