Strange things have happened up there,
Noises are heard in the middle of the night.
Monsters and creatures are living up there!
I'm practically shaking in fright!
Today I am going to climb up those stairs,
And see what lies hidden up there.
I'll look through our things and find some neat stuff,
Hopefully without getting a scare.
Boxes and chairs, bookshelves and bags,
Treasure just waiting to be seen.
Hats and clothes for dressing up,
Sailors, firemen, and a queen!
Puzzles with hundreds and thousands of pieces,
And pictures of beautiful things far away.
Grandpa's collections of old stamp and coins,
Small things from back in his day.
A chest in the corner, all covered in dust,
With an old lock and key.
What secrets lie hidden??
Let's open it and see!!
Toys from such a long, long time ago,
Played by with mommy and dad,
Simple, but colorful and fun,
These are the things that they had.
Our attic is treasure just waiting to be found,
If we just climb up and see.
Nothing is scary about these old things,
Next time come up with me!
Noises are heard in the middle of the night.
Monsters and creatures are living up there!
I'm practically shaking in fright!
Today I am going to climb up those stairs,
And see what lies hidden up there.

I definitely liked this. It could be in a children's book. Yes.. Yes.. I see it. I do.
Nice imagery though, and nice description of everything.

Thank You for Your Entry ~
I think this reflects alot of hopeful intentions of what we wish would be in an attic should we ever have one and come across it - attics have always been interesting to me partly because we've never had one
This gives wonderful imagery of an attic full of good memories and family times
Best of Luck

I volunteer to go up with you and wonder through the old treasures. That is so much fun to see all the stuff they use to have that is so different from now days. And to see things in the day helps to d\ispel the scare at night. So, invite me along and we will be strong together lol. Great work on your poem. I loved it. Congrats on being Hoodwinked.
God bless you,

A pleasant take on an attic theme. "These are the things that they had," makes a nice summation of your poem as well.

This almost scared me when I first started reading it but I am glad when I finished it ended well.
This is really a great write just like the other who have commented. So many adventures can be had in one little space, with just a little imagination to go with it. Another great write
