Freedom Of Youth

Missing image
Teenagers throughout the ages have longed to be free
to smoke and drink whene'er they please
and rebel against society

They'll learn the lessons of life one day
while stumbling through the stresses and strife
of work, rest and play

Parents try to guide them with love
to respect themselves and others too
whilst setting them free, like a dove

Experiences good and bad
shape and mould them
with help from a loving Mum and Dad

A lesson learnt with love
brings great rejoicing too
...from God above

    HOODWINKED !

This is a poem of wisdom and experience, Yes teenagers need to have freedom but they by their teen years ought to have learned moral values to guide their decisions and common sense to avoid foolish and dangerous situations. Thanks for sharing this thoughtful poem. Write On!

You have been Hoodwinked today by the Poetic Bandits because WE CARE! God Bless You!

    Hood-Wink!

What a fantastic poem that holds so much truth about teenagers today; my sister is 18 next month and I'm not sure if I'm sad to see her grow up so fast or sad to see her leave her childhood and innocence behind ...

    great write

    Stay safe

Wonderful take on the prompt! I believe as parents we can nurture, teach and help our children but in the long run it is them who will make the final decisions in life. We can only hope that what we have taught them will kick in and that they will come to us for help if they need it. Yes we all learn from our mistakes and are better in life for it.

Again a great poem, have a wonderful Sunday.

    Hugs,

    Theresa
