where once loves roses bloomed
there lies ground bare and blackened
where once joyful love flowed
there is now only dark desolation
where once sweet melodies played
there is only silence and abomination
where once my lips trembled with love
now they drown in salt encrusted tears
where once my tongue whispered I love you
it now lies cold, silent and still
where once I held you in my arms
now there is nothing but hell and demise
none comes near my heart, none within a mile
slowly it dies, feebly gasping; all the while
in silent suffrage I smother this twitching pain
never letting it bath in loves warmth again
for through all hell I have lived
and love I have shared and my heart I have given
and was told not wanted returned
Please tell me what you think

its the title that gets me the most.. the poem itself is beautiful but its the title that makes me read it more than once.... great choice in words for the entire piece

Your lament empowers this write in so many beautifully haunting ways. A fascinating write.

Thank you the past makes it rather easy to make the comparisons. I do think the last 3 lines are the power lines that top it off.
Roses to you
