ordinary.

it was as if
the clouds were us and

we were the clouds,
we were giants,
we owned the earth.

it was as if everything was
in between

then and now,
here and there,
old and young.

it was as if
i could taste joy

i could know love,
i could know agony,
i could know hate.

it was
an ordinary moment

and the sun didn’t sparkle
didn’t gleam
didn’t glisten
didn’t shine
didn’t glow
didn’t glimmer

but you did.

Author notes

i kind of hate this.
i wrote this after my window broke from the storm.
as is everything else of mine, this is for her.

    Loved it!

I think you need to cut yourself a little slack here. This is a wonderful write and the ending was absolutely perfect. Keep writing!

An unusual sort of extrepolation and interrogary at the same time. An arcane but interesting piece of poetry here that seems to fly literally all over the place, but to eventually return home...

  • this is lovely so much expressed, i enjoyed the read, take care

    The ending is so gorgeous.
I love all the descriptions about what the sun didn't do
but the love did. Very clever.

    An enjoyable read.
