I was sitting

I was sitting here and thinking of the pleasures that I lack
Like a girl with lots of freckles and a bottom I could smack
I was sitting contemplating other folk have rather more
Like a girl with lots of giggles and a figure I'd adore
I was sitting and daydreaming that I wasn't here alone
But I had a lover with me and my loneliness had flown

I was sitting here and wishing things would right themselves on cue
I would be here feeling happy busy making love to you
I was sitting doing nothing when you walked across my mind
With a sexy little greeting and a wiggling behind
I was sitting here and typing writing out some pointless rhyme
When you whispered that you loved me and I had a better time

I was sitting hurting no-one just a rhymer in a chair
When I thought about your giggles and the perfume of your hair
So I stood instead of sitting and I thought about your kiss
And I knew that I should travel to an evening filled with bliss
Then while lying after sitting on a bed with you beside
I'd be glad I'd lived the daydream it was more than worth the ride

Please tell me honestly what you think, good or bad.

Such a lovely piece you have penned here. Daydreams make it worthwhile to live the next day as are the sweet evening dreams when you can drift into a lovers arms and be whatever and however you want to be without restraint. Nicely penned poet.

'Riding on daydreams', something I think we all do and when reality becomes too much, what nicer place to be but with someone you want to be near.
A beautiful Jeff poem, and a pleasure to read.

    Thank you poet

As I read I caught myself smiling at giggling and wiggling. I don't know. There are all kinds of poetry, but you just seem to have that talent for reasonable rhyme. You tell your stories well Jeff.

We all sit like this so many times and wonder, imagine our life with the elements of our dreams.....or the opportunities we missed....then some work pops up and we forget everything....we sit again.....cycle goes on....

Aha! You're perfectly happy using "sitting" (the proper term) when it suits your metric requirements, bro! Sussed!

I love these xtra-long lines, the ones which spell FFFU in morse code. The poem is lightweight, fun, charming, and rather tender.

    Bunnies hop along in rhythm.

When I'm sat down I'm sitting and it always very clear
That when seated or when sitting I'm as sat as I appear
It's a lovely think in English that there's many ways to say
Thinks like seated sat and sitting when you're into verbal play
As to right ways and to wrong ways sometimes my opinion's strong
But it doesn't make much difference if the readers tag along

Thank-you I always love your teasing comments

This is awesome, Jeff. I really like how in line 10 the word "wiggling" seems to read with three distinct syllables...that makes it that much better! Really fun.
