April showers

"Smile for the camera"

She's the freckled baby girl
Lifting her lips,
letting them curl
At the very tip.

"Thats it stay still"

The camera will click
Baby two months old,
Wearing pink lipstick
Framed in gold.

"Oh darling she's a wonder"

Olive skin and hazel eyes
She bites she kicks,
But for today she complies
Just as mother predicts.

"She'll be an actress"

Baby looks with moody frowns
April never smiled before,
But her silky gowns
Have made her adore.

"You bring her to me when she's famous"

So eleven years later
In studio light,
April's stood for the greater
Photo's taken at the sight.
