22/01/87 ’twas
When a piteous death befell our land;
A pure Politian who was pushed beneath the yoke,
Sabotaged by persecution
And driven to the final minute.
People wept over the departed body,
Inhaled the preserved pain of watering injustice.
For the helpless crowd knew of his absolute innocence,
Yet their hands were empty of any suitable weapon.
People wept over the departed body,
And the anguished evil he had been force-fed,
Yet someone in the crowd, a person knew,
That the states needed refurbishment of a handful rules.
Yes, people wept over the departed body,
Lineal and unlineal tears of grief and sorrow,
Just like those lining along my face this instant,
And hands shaking vigorously out of incredulity,
Yet this hero taught the States an irreplaceable lesson,
A deed that will never die or seep into the ground.
The man was wise and brave,
He defeated wrong with his life,
Never let wrong take the lead.
And everyone would have liked to meet him,
Including me,
Yet it is marvelous, how on that day,
And the day after that, and the day following,
Everyone cried, not only the fortunate ones.
Goodbye Dwyer,
Nice shot!…
Author notes
He's a man I had read about before...And I really admire him...
