Dawn's morning glory shines, amidst yawning hummingbird chimes
A lover's heart dances through fields of snow. As it's struck with cupid's deadly bow
With eyes shining bright, holding each other tight. Together for life till death do them part
A poisoned dart, a sealed doom, but death may come a might too soon
And in sight, a dimming light. For St. Valentine's Day has faded to night
Locked in each others embrace, as tears do stain their face.
They bleed their sweet sanity. For love is a fairytale of lies and deceit
heartache and defeat, a thorn-filled sheet.
For, you shall die beneath the devil's feet. Chained to beautiful Adam and Eve
Torn limb from limb, impaled on dimming stars. Death indeed tore them apart
Author notes
This is a poem I submitted for a Valentine's Day contest on my favorite band's fansite. I was so surprised that I WON!
