The trees no longer had leaves
They reached their skeletal fingers to the sky
Nobody is left, so no one grieves
The birds were floating along with the bees
All is at peace or so it seems
But they never came down to see us all die
The bright, blistering sun brushed her face
Not knowing that she was frozen within
To never walk again with her elegant grace
If only she had known
The man who took the thrown
Was the real thing that caused all the sin
From the cleanest house, he watched the terror unfold
He controlled it from the middle of the world
“Everything is fine,” to us he told
But we know more than he knows
That right under his nose
All around the gas was swirled
From behind the false bliss
We are all brought down which should happen never
He can teach us what fear really is
Our leader and our foe
It just goes to show
The innocence cannot last forever
