Healing

When all life ceases
and all hope dies,
You send an angel
to stand by my side.
Bright flaring wings surround,
engulfing me within their light;
blinding with Your grace,
soft with Your loving touch.
Feathers gently soothe bruised flesh,
gentle fingers slide over,
easing dried tears.
My lips shutter with sobs of loneliness,
heart shredded only to be quieted with Your peace.
Calming love comforts a destroyed soul,
quieting fears which had long been forgotten.
Strong arms hold tightly to a trembling body,
holding fast to a heart yearning to run,
clasping tight to a spirit consumed with pain.
Love me, O Lord, that this pain may pass,
heal me, Great Redeemer,
that I might forever be Yours.
Give me hope, Holy One,
that I might forever walk within Your light.
Hold me tightly to Your breast,
that I might never fall from You.
Calm my fears,
that I may always cling to You,
arms holding tightly around Your chest and word,
that I may forever be enamored by Your light,
always search for Your presence,
and bask within the calming presence of Your love.
Consume me, Lord,
that I may forever feel Your warming love.
