Dangerous Eyes

She caught my eyes in a breath of love
wishing to stay with me forever
on sands of time, in sunsets low
mingling real with the imagined...

With freedom’s silent wings to alight
to choose to stay, and to stay
though free to fly, to fly away
and not- desiring hard these eyes;

So mine caught hers in a glimmering dance
trading secrets without pause or doubt;
no question unanswered, no worrisome signs
smiles concurrent, engendering sighs...

If I allow myself to fall into her now
drawn to her life, meld with her soul
I shall never look back, and never regret
but the days that I held her and did not know.

    I am in awe of men that can write beautiful poetry. Maybe because none of the men I know have one ounce of poetic talent, lol.

    'So mine caught hers in a dance'...that is beauty, sweetie.

    I loved the juxtaposition of emotions throughout this write. The last line really packs a punch and finishes this poem off beautifully. Well done
