I love you-
Your angles and sharpness
make abstract paintings on skin canvases.
Raw collarbones carve caves my eager eyes explore
Two half-moons of pelvis push out like sideways smiles
But there's no happiness in your hips.
Your ribs play like piano keys-
Octaves filling spaces left by meals missed.
Its a sad state when excuses slide over your tongue
more easily than crumbs.
Artisan architecture of your body;
destitute cathedral crafted to will-
A poem in every inch of skin and bone,
a painting in every pore:
interpretation breeds contempt, but I cushion your corners;
Fold phantom pillows over edges,
Padding here and there,
I hope you see my handiwork,
my artwork on the scant frames you offer me.
I cuddle your clothes-hanger bones.
Reflections and refractions distort, distract.
While silvery whispers colour you large.
I can't help my falsehoods to your aching truths
But love enfolds
and your thinness hurts.

"Artisan architecture of your body;

Gorgeous stanza.
I love the way you take a subject and turn it inside out,
pouring poetry through your words.
It's fantastic, really.
Congrats on the gold for this.
It was definitely deserved.
