conception of the mind
contradiction to the eyes
reality gone asunder
cause for wonder

PONDER

Perception

manipulation of lines
to infinity or just off yonder
distance to ponder

actors on wings in disguise
everyday life to dramatize

Winged art---to associate with that one will--
      flight, angelic spirits, time travel.
Will have to ssttle on one to icorporate

this was really interesting. i will try what you suggested with the pictures, they're lovely. I especially enjoyed "Wonder", it was beautiful the way you did the shading.

thank you for entering ,good job with the prompt.

I enjoyed this. The artwork and poem work well together. Having read this, I am now thinking about the reality of our experiences and our perceptions, the limits of linear thinking, and the wonder of the mind.

      Ah, yes---you have the key---perception!
What makes us all unique--our ability to
see and express, each in our own vision.
      Trounce the limits!

  • very beautiful piece. i love the artwork!!

      There are lots more here---
      waiting in line!

      Inspiration? To create
what didn't exist but in my mind
before I put pen to paper,
      fingers to keys.

      Similar, I would think
      to your desire to research,
to write, to put all your
      skills to work for you...

Yes, it is rather a different world in here.
I combine art with the words---and depending
on the subject, sometimes the art first, for
the hard is hard (easy to mess up a pen line)
and the words are easy (just a backspace
      and all fixed).

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

You are welcome. You poem makes one think outside the box Which is a good thing. I will look forward to reading more work from you.

  • I like it, you say what you mean but you say it with subtlety. This reminds me of my piece Life of a Madman, It seems like nothing if you are just reading it but if you look deeper you can find hidden meanings. Good job, keep it up =).

I was hoping to convey the unexpected---
for that is what the imagination creates!

      Aha--you selected the phrase that
is the key to the piece. That segment
was the first I wrote for the seiries,
      drawing first, to conceptualize
what was in my mind. In other
      pieces the words came before
      the drawing.

  • I want my stamps back... buy your own... but I still want that letter of apology... roflmbo... and yes... here comes that scream!

You are such a tease... hmmm... I think I owe you big time for this one and I am the queen of practical jokes, I will be thinking on this for a bit, will be brewing me up a good one... I like to get em when they have done forgot to expect they might be gotten.... yep you keep expecting it dear... anytime, anyway, anyhow... it's a coming your way... roflmbo

Now to get serious... if that is possible... lol

You really put a lot of deep thought into these pieces and I love profound poetry as I am a deep thinker myself, am often times accused of being too deep of a thinker. I believe we have to put our own perspective on things but I also believe we have to be subjective as well as objective to others opinions as well with an open mind and apply that to the way we percieve things to see how it affects our way of thinking. If for not other reason to keep life from being boring... lol ( okay sorry I said I would be serious)

      Ah, yes, without subjectivity
      there would be no poetry,
      no individuality, the personalization
      that makes each writer unique.

      No cookie cutters here!

      I heard the scream---
      right thru the screen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ''oriented to be objective
    but humanly subjective''

I like that because indeed, things are what they are...we apply the subjectivity to them.

Well the poem does define the word perspective...each of us shares one to a point and then it breaks off into our own interpretation.

The art is great...showing the elusiveness, the levels and shapes that appear to be, but aren't necessarily. Wow, a lot of wotk and thinking!

    • Aesthete2000 gold member
      August 5
Yes, the "thinking"---for I wanted to create
an order, a unity of repetiton, rhymes,
tying the titles to the last word
of each piece to relate to
      the order, or illusionary
      order, of the
      drawings.

I know there is a lot going on---
but that is how life is--
it doesn't wait for us to catch up---
just keeps throwing stuff at us--
and we have to catch it or dodge it
to deal with it, each in our own way.

You think quickly for so early in the a.m.....!!!

Thank you with '!' to the tenth power

I have saved the link (http://allpoetry.com/poem/5591645)

--so I can visit again, lose myself in them, enjoy their depth and distance to let my subconscious tune in and find what I missed before.

They go far beyond the obvious architectural qualities of two-point perspective into a surreal Dali-esque exploration, past what is near and accessible into what exists beyond, through time, another dimension. After tuning a sense of these into the iteration into time, I imagine new qualities that defy words. I cannot promise results but the fun is in trying! As well as space it is finding an entry to psychic distance not yet revealed.

Poorly expressed with my inadequate words, when I have more time, perhaps yours will take mine to visit places where these images grew.

    Whee!!

      Hi, Terry!

There is a sense of adventure in creating
with either words or lines an existence
      that seems touchable yet unreachable---
real, but not real, open to interpretation.
      And therein the motivation,
      to interpret as one wills!

Your words are more than adequate and most interesting!

Thank you for taking the time to explore and share.

Great work poet! The line that really 'hit' me is:

"illusion by dots and lines connective".

To me it really sums up your great work!

That line really is at the heart of it,
is is not? Could refer to the use
of tools and rules to draw the
illusion as well as to the
      connection with the
      words on the page!

There's so much stimuli that sometimes those boxes form on their own. Looking at the whole picture and its many elements can be overwhelming to process all at once. Then there are dreams and fantasies that help take the sting away from reality providing an oasis of sorts.

I want to look at this again as more of a whole than the sum of parts to see where the mind takes me.

This my friend is a masterpiece of thought and art.

Although these pieces were created one by one
and intentionally posted that way, I was anxious

Felt t was a bit overwhelming
      and even posted the separate
links to keep it ordered in my mind!!

Aha! The dreams healing the stings!

May your mind play in all the heights oi illusion
created to incite thoughts and dreams.
