I would prefer to write about characters, two people who don't know each other, but live in the same place and know the same places. This way it can be both personal and abstract, depending on what is "going on" in the lives of these people, and of course, us as poets.
For example: one person writes a letter, a kind of confessional "I can't handle this so I'm going to write it all out" adds in their address, and leaves it on a park bench. The second person finds it and writes back, and they become close friends and confidants through this. While never meeting. Also, I would like for it to not end with their names, but with random things like "the girl who doesn't like salad dressing" or "page one hundred and thirty two".
I think that the length of the series would be justified by how the writing developed, being a series it would bounce off what we were thinking and probably come to a natural ending by itself. However, I would like for it to have a "one year later" thing at the ending - maybe the people become too busy (or grow up and drift away) - but realise how important they are to each other and there is a rekindling of the friendship at a later time.
I hope that this made sense, if you have any questions about anything let me know and I'll attempt to be more clear!

Special Ambush!
wow.wow.wow;
this is amazing Polly; it has a touch of two movies for me:
'serendipity'
'the lake house'
the innocence of never meeting reaches out softly, as the idea of doing such a thing is appealing in many ways
gorgeous;

Sweeeeeeeeeeet. (Legitimate)

I really like this idea. Yes it does seem sort of hollywood cliche, but with your talent and if you make the writing raw enough, I think that you can pull it off, and you would pull it off well. I hope that you continue with this idea!

i don't like salad dressing.
it has a bit of a hollywood movie feel... a little bit 'serendipity'...
but then it would depend on the writing as to how glossy or raw it turns out.
glossy is easy... i would like raw ( and no salad dressing lol)
i can see the thing develop into a short novel.

I should probably watch that movie some day, that's the third time it's been mentioned to me this week
I'm hoping that it would be more raw than fluffy though
... I also don't like salad dressing, yesterday at lunch I asked for no salad dressing and the lady at the counter looked me up and down, and then told me I didn't need to lose weight - apparently it is unthinkable that someone would just not like the taste of it
-- thank you for your comment!

This sounds like a great idea for an on going cat and mouse adventure which would involve character development and the on-going dynamics of such an unique relationship.
Would you be writing this alone or would it be a collabotative effort?
Super Suggestion!
