Wow... it ends almost bitterly... It's like you're trying everything you can to reconcile and yet every time you turn around something is being said to knock your efforts three steps back. And the usage of simply "Stay down" makes it sound as if she is speaking to a dog, and putting you in a place lower than what you deserve, like she's trying to keep you down and not even give you the chance to step up and follow through with yuor efforts. At least that's the way I felt about this after getting to the end, maybe I'm reading too far into it, but that's what I get. You can see the hope in your words throughout, but there is doubt that lingers behind every syllable.
