what gave me expectations
and why did I believe
when you leaned in for that kiss
I thought it would be me

and I thought I'd be the one
when you reached out for her hand
but instead was left alone
with a feeling I can't stand

and I thought you'd meet with mine
when you stared into her eyes
but now it's quite apparent
you don't notice when I try

and I thought I would recover
I thought that it was done
yet still I have these feelings
but love takes more than one

    Wow.. powerful write, I love how you keep comparing yourself to here. I can hear the insecurity and brokenness in your words. This was a great write, and the rhyme worked well.

    nice write it flowed well and I liked your style; starting stanzas with "and" and the first stanza is so relatable great job!
