Forgiveness

Open up your heart, my child,
and your eyes;
for I am here, beside you
Never did I leave you.
You left me;
and I wept

but I remained...

for this is my promise...

to you...

and to all...

Your anguish is not
blind to me,
neither is your goodness
towards others,
for it was I
who brought them
to you.
You are my eternal servant.
You bow down before me,
your hands stretched out,
to meet my own.
We are but one,
my child,
even when you step
away from my shadow.

Too often you turn away
from the reflection
in the mirror;
the one haunting you,
concealing  you,
from me.
Look beyond that image,
from deep within.
I am there.
You will see the face

of My Father...

Can you see Him?...

Forgiveness is my gift
to all,
it can not by earned,
or understood,
by human condition.
I give this to you
with but one instruction
my child.
I require your faith;
absolute and forever.
If I can acquit
all intrusion against you
in your life,
then I ask you to do no less
for me,
I created you,
and all who have hurt you.

The journey to the bounty
I offer to all,
requires sacrifice,
my child.
Look beyond the abscess
you have attached
to your own heart .
You can not remove it
without my grace
and your desire.
It requires both.

Do not attempt to understand
the mystery of my Father.
simply obey him;
this is your duty,
and bestowal.
He will never abandon you.
He wears your affliction
upon His shoulder,
at all moments.
He is enbracing you now

Can you feel Him?...

Can you see His tears?...

    Pointed imagery

    "Look beyond the abscess you have attached to your own heart", this is acute imagery of what happens to the heart that will not forgive. There is great depth in this poem for those who will accept it. To relinquish one's own hard will can be difficult indeed. Thank you for writing this insightful poem as reminder of all we can lose with such hardness.

    Obviously, from my screen name, I am rather fond of furthering the cause of Hope in whatever way I am able to accomplish. Forgiveness is an essential thing for everyone - it is more for our sake than for the sake of the one we must forgive, for the poison is within us, not them. Another thoughtful piece, Poet.

  • I don't even know where to begin on this comment about your poem. I've been sitting reading over and over, just letting in sink in. With the day I had the past three days, this poem, your words make a lot of sense to me and it's something that I needed to read.

    What a very powerful and uplifting write, it touched me deeply, I know that without God in my life I would not have made it through all the trials and tribulations in my life. God is great and loves us unconditionally. Susan sent me the link to your amazing poem and I am so glad she did, keep up the amazing and heartfelt writing, hugs Theresa

  • You are one profound writer my friend! Always amazing me with the depth and sincerity in your messages and you deliver them flawlessly. If I was to say that this had no effect on me, I would be lying through my teeth. I actually read this one a couple hours ago and could not comment at that point, instead I just tearfully closed it out and put my sandals on and went to the grocery store with my little girl to gather my thoughts. Yes, it had that big of an impact on me.

    I would love to one day be the type of writer who can impact people the way some of your writes affect me. For now though, I strive just to write a decent poem with a well thought out message that the average person can decipher.

    Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a piece that will surely make a postive impact in the lives of all who read it.

    Love,

    Suzi

    John,

    What a read this one is! Something in this one, really speaks to me, maybe that is because of the subject matter, and what has happened to me. You did a great job on this one, and I have to say Thank you for sharing this one, and opening my eyes.

    and love
