It's funny looking back on how this all began,
Relationships with a boy of whom I was a fan,
Jealousy and determination brought us close,
Trauma and heartbreak made us love the other most.
The past year has been a roller coaster at best,
But our love has gotten us through all this mess.
If it were mine I'd give you the world,
To show the power of my love unfurled
I'd do what I could to make you smile,
To make your sadness go away for a little while.
If it would help I would sing you to sleep,
I've given you a piece of my heart to keep.
You're the best friend I could ever ask for,
Without a doubt it's you I adore.
So come away with me and let's dance a bit in the sun,
I promise I'll always try to make our days together fun.
