LipStick On Her Collar Short Story

Kendra got into her car. Finally she thought a night out without her husband. She loved him but sometimes she needed her space. A girls night out would be great it was what she needed. She first picked up Jen.1

"Hey Jen. How's it going?"2

"Fine Frank has been driving me nuts."3

"Yeah I know the feeling. Mark has been the same way. Ever time the game is on. Honey get me a beer. Where's the remote? All the same."4

"Well that's not as bad as Frank who last night wouldn't let me sleep until I gave him some. Meanwhile Andy was still up in his crib. Come on seriously what was I suppose to do?"5

"Something we all should've done."6

"What's that?"7

"Never gotten married."8

"Ha I wish I thought of that a long time ago. Dedra called. She told me to tell you that she won't be able to go out tonight. Mason left and she has to watch the kids."9

"Well that sucks. I was hoping we all could go out enjoy a few drinks at that new club."10

"Yeah I know but sometimes it's not always on our side. What club is it?"11

"Diamonds! I heard around that it was a good place to go. A change of scenery."12

"Well hey I am up for something new."13

Kendra reached the club. It all seemed the same on the outside just like any club. Men and women were waiting to get in. Kendra hoped that even though Dedra wasn't here they would have a good time anyways. Since there was always a next time. They stood in the line waiting to get in. They wasted time by talking about their husbands and how they hated it but knew they had to stay in it for their kids.14

"Alright ladies. Welcome and enjoy."15

"For the first time Kendra we weren't carded to get into a club."16

"Yeah I know. It kind of makes me feel old."17

"Thirty now come on you got like ten more years until your old."18

"Ha well you will be right behind me on that."19

Music was thumping. The joint was alive that was for sure. Coming through they reached the dance floor. People were grinding on each other. Kendra nearly fainted when she realized what they walked into. This was a club that they weren't use to being in. This was a gay club. Jen laughed her ass off as she stared at Kendra.20

"Not what you expected is it?"21

"Well no!"22

"Hey baby. Can I buy you a drink?"23

Kendra turned around. "I think you got the wrong idea."24

"What do you mean?"25

Jen put her arm around Kendra's shoulders. "Hey she's here with me that's why."26

The woman walked away dismayed. Jen removed her arm from Kendra's shoulders. Kendra looked at her.27

"Well I don't know whether or not to slap you or thank you."28

"How about you thank me? Let's go get a drink."29

"Thanks. Let's go."30

Kendra followed Jen to the bar. There they both order tequila's. They grabbed them and headed to an empty both. There they continued to talk about their husbands. Then Kendra broke the ice with....31

"Hey look at it this way at least we won't have men hitting on us all night."32

Jen roared with laughter. Just then there laughter was interrupted by the woman who asked Kendra if she could buy her a drink.33

"I have been watching you two for the longest time now. You don't look to be a couple. Everyone else holds their partner's hand or kisses them. You two haven't even done anything like since you got here. Now that is really bugging me."34

Jen being the quick thinker spoke up. "We don't do all that PDA. We are old school."35

"Another thing that is puzzling me is that fact that you are both femmes. Now how does that work? Who is the dominant one?"36

"We both like to get and recieve."37

"Prove it to me that you are a couple and kiss her."38

Kendra swallowed. Great Jen now look what you got use into she thought. One either Jen would get a black eye from this woman or Kendra would be kissed by her best friend. Not really sure which one she wanted at this point she took another sip of tequila and glanced at Jen.39

"Fine. I would be glad to do that for you so you can leave my woman alone."40

Jen looked at Kendra and smiled. Kendra swallowed hard and embraced herself to kiss her best friend. Jen grabbed Kendra and pulled her into the kiss. The woman watched and soon got bored since they were both still at it. Jen finally managed to pull away.41

"Wow."42

"What?"43

"Nothing sorry."44

"No it's ok. I got us into that mess so I had to get us out."45

"Yeah I know."46

Jen smiled. Kendra couldn't get it out of her head. What the hell were they still doing here? They should just leave.47

"I could use another drink. How about you?"48

"Yeah what the hell why not. I need one after that kiss."49

Kendra laughed and Jen joined in. Jen walked off to get more to drink this time she thought they should do jello shots and more tequila. She brought them back with her. They took down the jello shots and had the tequila chasing the jello down their throats.50

"Whoa!"51

"So Kendra am I a good kisser?"52

"Come on Jen."53

"Come on and tell me and I will tell you."54

"Fine. Yes I would say that you are."55

"Good. You are too."56

"I never did anything like that before."57

"Well I did in high school at a party. Though I didn't enjoy who I had to kiss but on the other hand I did enjoy kissing you. I know that I am not drunk or at least I don't think that I am."58

"Wow Jen I never thought you were that way."59

"Yeah but look at it this way Kendra you married Mark. I have always had a crush on you Kendra and I didn't want to interfere in your happiness so I decided to marry the first guy that came around and that was Frank."60

"Wow Jen. I don't know what to stay but I think that you are drunk. How could you feel that way about me?"61

"I don't know maybe because we had gym class together and I was able to look at you while you undressed."62

"Is that why I always caught you looking at me? Especially when I took off my shirt?"63

"Sorry Kendra. I hope I didn't scare you."64

"It's alright. I know that I should be scared but hey I am not. But I think we need to get out of here. We both had enough to drink for one night."65

"Fine but I got to go to the little girls room before we go so come with me."66

"Ok let's go and make this quick. I want to get home and pass out on the couch so I don't have to sleep with Mark."67

Jen and Kendra went into the bathroom. Jen was stumbling all over. Sure enough Kendra thought she is drunk. Jen went into the stall but soon enough Kendra heard her voice.68

"I need some help the zipper keeps evading my hands."69

"Damn Jen. Open the door and I will help you out."70

The door opened and Kendra went in to help her out. After all she would do the same for me Kendra thought. But as soon as she walked in Jen locked the door and pinned Kendra against the wall and kissed her. Kendra didn't pull away. She rather embraced it. Jen slide her hands down Kendra's side and pulled her in close. Then she kissed her neck. Sending shivers down Kendra. She didn't want Jen to stop. Hell she didn't even know she liked woman until tonight. Kendra experienced something that night in the stall that she wouldn't ever forget even when she got home.71

Kendra dropped Jen off. "Thanks I had a good time with you."72

"Yeah me too."73

Kendra watched as Jen walked perfectly straight up the stairs. That bitch she thought. Then Kendra headed home still thinking about what happened back at the club. Her heart was pounded she hoped hat Mark was asleep so she could go to bed and not have to deal with him drilling her on what happened. She pulled into her drive way and sure enough Mark was up. The lights were still on. Sighing Kendra got out of the car and went inside where she saw Mark sitting on the couch sipping a beer.74

"Hey baby. I am home."75

"Fine. Good. Great. Now grab me another beer."76

Kendra did as she was told though she really wanted to smash it over his head. She handed him the beer. She nearly fell back when he jumped up.77

"Who in the hell were you out with?"78

"Jen. Dedra couldn't come. She had to watch her kids."79

"I am going to beat the shit out of her."80

"Mark what the hell are you talking about?"81

"You should know. After all men don't wear lipstick!"82

Startled Kendra looked down and sure enough there was lipstick on her collar.
