The name's Michael Jackson,
he was the king of pop.
Starting out a Jackson five,
from there he didn't stop.
He's the man in the mirror,
becoming the greatest star.
With his music he led the way,
rocking the world from afar.
Some thought he was strange,
others thought he was wrong
but to most he was their icon,
his appearance became strong.
With his music there was magic,
when he danced and twirled,
giving so much of himself,
wanting to heal the world.
Then one day he left us,
it was the darkest of all days
but we will remember him,
forever and for always.
Now in a world of freedom,
he's sitting on a mountain high.
Although his soul passed on,
his memory will never die.

This was beautifully crafted from the Jackson five until now. I love how you incorporated all the years and had a lovely flow to your poem. I thank you greatly for such a lovely tribute to such a wonderful talent that will be missed.

This is charming tribute to a great talent. By all accounts he was a wonderful son and father in addition to a terrific musical talent. He is one of those stars who made such an impact on the musical world and society in general. I remember Fred Astaire saying that Michael was one of the greatest dancers he had ever seen. He left us much too soon, but his contributions will live on. Good luck in this contest. Peace, Liz
