His excitement erupted
like a shooting star;
he'd encounter her beauty
after all these years.
Just as the star shot
across his beating heart,
it fell in a matter of seconds,
her betrayal caused it's demise.
His pride was broken,
like a vase she absent-mindedly broke
while juggling his heart in her hands;
he could never go back.
Yet he yearned for her touch
every day that the sun rose.
Until his eyes never saw the sun
peak over the horizon again.
He'd learned how to drown out her voice,
his breath always told his secrets,
burnt with the foul scent of whiskey,
her memory died with him.
They layed him beneath the willow,
while her liquor stained tears
pounded furiously into the earth;
she marked her mistake with a single rose.

Hey girl, that's actually one of my favorite country songs. I am going to write for this, I just really want to think about it and let it sit, I don't want to mess it up.
