A washcloth, a handkerchief, a tissue or towel
Is my companion now
To wipe the perspiration
That's constantly on my brow
And on my back and on my neck
And sometimes on my nose
My arms and legs and shoulders
And even on my toes
The flash is so hot, and sometimes so long
It's much more than a flash
It's like, if it was Morse code
It wouldn't be a dot, it'd be a dash
The reason it's called menopause
Is not the reason some think
It has nothing to do with biology
Or how the parts are linked
It has nothing to do with eggs
Or hormones or natural laws
It's cause when we're hot and sticky and mean
We put our Men-On-Pause
Like pushing the button on the sound system
To bring the music to a halt
We put our Men-On-Pause
And it's really not our fault
So until the flashes and the heat and sweat
Finally come to an end
We'll have to put our Men-On-Pause
And have a hankie as our best friend!!

You know I love it and sadly relate to every word. WHEW! I can remember when you were hot flashing and I hand't made it there yet, now I am right with you gurl. LO: Congratulations on earning the GOLD! YES!

Perfect! I thought about going this direction myself [men on pause] but since I've been celibate for so long didn't want to go there. It's really an easy decision to put men on hold when having the sweats 'cause you can't even stand yourself & when your all hot & sticky who wants to think about getting all hot and bothered?

I've never heard it described quite this way but, it makes sense.
Now if only when we put them on pause thy stay that way long enough to really understand what we're going through. I enjoyed reading your piece. Good luck in the contest.
